THE DECISION TO START THE BLOG

30 seconds ago - just before writing this - I felt more out of my comfort zone than I have for quite a while. Of course this is in part because of the fact that I am very much IN my comfort zone when doing animation. However, I think it's important for a couple of reasons.
1. It shifts my fokus and my mindset, while still doing something potentially productive for my work and my business.
2. It allows me to vent and share thoughts about this leap I have taken starting as a freelancer. These are thoughts that might otherwise get suppressed, only to surface at even more inconvenient times. Venting is in deed a very appropriate word for it.
3. I think it might help me seriously challenge the notion that it IS worth the financial insecurities and the stress. I hope that doing this once every one or two weeks will make this pressure less constant.
4. Undoubtedly there will be many more things to benefit from doing this blog than I realise now, so I hope I will keep at it and reap these benefits as they unveil.
I will strive to make these blog posts mostly of a professional nature, talking about the challenges of being a motion designer and animator, but since this post has already ventured into the personal stuff, let me just give a big shout out to my family. You are OF COURSE far more precious to me than anything else in this world, and that keeps me fighting.
Like I said, I will try to make this a weekly or bi-weekly thing.
